Job Training
Agora’s job training program builds on creative foundations established in our community service evenings. Children appreciated for their abilities to be creative are experiencing the rewards which accompany being productive. Agora’s job training emphasizes financial reward for tasks completed; not payment for time given.

Our beginnings with children are synonymous with “allowance.” Most children receive money for chores completed at home for mom and/or dad. Our youth do not have these opportunities, so contract labor (payment for tasks selected by the young person) are made available at the conclusion of community service evenings.

Marketplace Motors (MM) is an auto dealership that receives donated cars. MM also buys and sells cars. Automobiles that require work provide us with the opportunity to teach mechanical and auto body repair skills. Buying and selling provides us with the opportunity to teach sales, clerical, and financial skills. Advanced youth in the program receive donated cars as they qualify to receive them.
