While society does have a moral obligation to offer humane care for those who cannot care for themselves, we watch a number of youth become victims of abuse amid systems of care. There are many young people that simply need to have values planted and nurtured in them at young ages. Masses of urban youth simply need a positive example and a gentle nudge. Our first goal is to see young people discover that they can accomplish tasks worthy of affirmation, and then enjoy the fulfillment of their completion. Young people start to believe in themselves when the seeds of creativity and productivity begin to grow. While a couple of dollars is valued for a moment, the encouraging words and smiles of appreciation can last a lifetime. There is nothing like seeing a young person bake their first batch of apple dumplings,

remove the tape on a car that has been painted,

or erect the walls of a house.

We help young people learn to work and discover joy in their accomplishments.
