Agora Christian Fellowship, Inc
Agora Christian Fellowship was begun by two couples beginning to pray together in 1994. Soon there were more people attending. On the first Sunday in 1995, Al and Susan Mondalek opened their home for us to begin worship togther in a comforable suburban community. Nine months later, those gathered sensed an inner call to relocate worship into the center of the city to establish a church that would aggressively reach out to inner-city youth: to be the love of Christ to some of the most challenging with hopes of interrupting bad choices for good.
While the ministry needs and demands continue to grow, the church is small. The fellowship of people who participate consider it a privilege to be regularly challenged with walking out unconditional love. People here are joyful givers, because they know the funds are being used to meet genuine needs and truly offering loving alternatives to those desperately in need of better choices. We welcome everyone, inviting all to enjoy the rewards that come through testing and faithfulness. This is a place where the witness matters. This is a place where children from healthy homes are taught spiritual truths in a place where the fruit of poor choices and prudent choices are in glowing contrast. The healthy grow stronger and mature well-founded; the challenging are given hope and prove to have been a worthy investment.
Pastors Rich and Becky Bartholomew were two of those originally meeting for prayer. They continue to provide leadership. While Al and Susan Mondalek relocated to Cleveland, they continue to be supportive, praying daily for the work here. Many people have contributed to the emergence of this important work. Many continue to serve and offer themselves as instruments of the Lord. This is the Lord’s work. Our continued prayer is for more people to hear the Lord’s call to join us in an overlooked concern of the Lord: “… let the little children come unto Me.” The Old Testament prophet tells us that where the hearts of the fathers are not turned towards their children, and the children to their fathers, the land will be stricken with a curse.. In today’s individualistic society where children are not our greatest market of concern for their own good, join us as we turn to the children… helping, caring, encouraging, nurturing, and loving them.
